Our weekly Cap Classique (MCC) tasting events bring together three of our favourite things about Cape Town: delicious wines made by local winemakers, bubbly vibes, and a serious appreciation for traditional-method fizz! There are wine tastings, and then there are the ones that understand the assignment: informed pours, elegant glassware, and a Cap Classique range that will leave you wanting to explore the full wine list.
If you’re looking for a tasting that feels like stepping into a vineyard at golden hour, then this one is for you. Join us every Saturday at 2.30pm for an exploration of three show-stopping Cap Classiques, all made right here in South Africa.
As if that wasn’t already the best start to the weekend, we’ve uniquely paired each Cap Classique with a delicious macaron — think crisp, refreshing wine complemented by a hint of sweetness. Each pairing has been individually selected to bring out the distinct features of each wine, whether that’s fruity, fresh or creamy! In this sit-down, guided tasting, we’ll be exploring three of our favourite fizzes: Genevieve Blanc de Blanc and Haute Cabrière’s Pierre Jourdan Brut and Pierre Jourdan Belle Rose.

Genevieve Blanc de Blanc
Originating from Bot River, Overberg, this minimal intervention wine is made with 100% Chardonnay grapes and has a hazelnut complexity resulting from extended lees contact. Whole-bunch pressed and aged for 42 months, Genevieve Blanc de Blanc is a citrus-driven, elegant pour with high natural acidity and a delicate character on the palate.
Pierre Jourdan Brut
The Chardonnay Pinot Noir blend was a daring innovation when first created by the Haute Cabrière estate’s founding cellar master, Achim von Arnim. Pierre Jourdan Brut is an homage to this legacy, paying tribute to both grape varietals.
Created in Franschhoek, this classic fizz offers crisp, clean acidity with a yeasty flavour profile. Its versatility makes it the perfect pour for almost any occasion!
Pierre Jourdan Belle Rose
Fruity, fresh and festive! This playful tribute to the versatility of Pinot Noir is one of our favourite rosé fizzes. When you take a sip, you’ll experience a full nose of strawberries and cream, followed by red fruit flavours and punchy, fresh acidity on the palate.
